27th June 2000: Arrives in Atlanta

28th June 2000 - 27th December 2000: Opens a bank account

  • Jarrah opened a bank account at West Coast Guaranty (First National), in Sarasota, Florida, with a $2,000 cash deposit. (Source)

7th October 2000: Returns to Germany

  • Jarrah flew from Atlanta, Georgia, to Frankfurt, Germany, on Delta Airlines Flight 20. Jarrah then traveled to Bochum, Germany. (Source)


14th October 2000: Fly to Paris

  • Jarrah and Aysel Senguen flew from Dusseldorf, Germany, to Paris, France on Air France Flight 1607. They returned to Dusseldorf two days later on Air France Flight 1606. The tickets for this trip were purchased on October 12, 2000, from STA Travel in Bochum, Germany. (Source)


29th October 2000: Returns to the US

  • Jarrah flew from Dusseldorf to Tampa, through Frankfurt, on Lufthansa Airlines Flight 223 and Condor Airlines Flight 7178. The tickets for the flight back to the United States, and a return trip to Germany that was never used, were purchased on September 25th, 2000, at Alpha Travel Services in Bochum, Germany. (Source)


3rd November 2000: Buys a car

15th - 18th December 2000: 727-300 Flight Simulator training

  • Jarrah stays at the Holiday Inn Express, Room 316, Florida, while training on flight simulators at Aerospace Aviation Center in Miami, Florida. This training consisted of 8 hours over three sessions on a Boeing 727-300 simulator, then two hours in one session on a Boeing 737-200. He had a further two hours on the Boeing 737-200 simulator a few weeks later (see January 8th) (Source)

  • Jarrah's name is associated with a VISA account #4011806070804835. (Source) A further line in the source document talks of printouts showing transactions for this card for July 27th 2001 to 12th September 2001.


2nd June 2001: Flies to Phildelphia

  • Jarrah takes AirTran Airways Flight 750 from Ft. Lauderdale to Philadelphia. (Source) He booked a return flight for June 9, 2001, but did not use that ticket. (Source)
  • Jarrah rents a Chevrolet Cavalier from Alamo from today until the 7th of June. (Source) He had driven 455 miles. (Source)
  • Jarrah stays at Best Western Hotel Philadelphia until 5th June. (Source)


3rd June 2001: Hortman Aviation

  • Jarrah's name appears on statements for aircraft rental and instruction from Hortman Aviation, Philadelphia. (Source)
  • Jarrah paid for 1.4 hours of flight training at Hortman Aviation, Philadelphia. He requested to fly the "Hudson Corridor" but was denied because he was not skilled enough as a pilot. He also was deemed unfit to fly solo and therefore flew with an instructor. (Source)

4th June 2001: Hortman Aviation

  • Jarrah's name appears on statements for aircraft rental and instruction from Hortman Aviation, Philadelphia. (Source)
  • Jarrah paid for another 1.4 hours of flight training at Hortman Aviation. Jarrah took two "check rides" with a flight instructor to evaluate his competency to fly aircraft and allow unsupervised rentals. Jarrah had trouble with his landings and never rented aircraft from Hortman. (Source)

  • Jarrah received a speeding ticket in Maryland at 0:05. (Source) He was on "I-95 North, in the Perryville area of Cecil County, Maryland, which is between Baltimore and Wilmington, Delaware." (Source)
  • Jarrah checked out of the Marriott Hotel at 14:14. He then checked in to the Days Inn, Newark, NJ, renting rooms 725 and 727, each of which for two people. (Source)


10th September 2001: Sends goodbye letter to Senguen

  • Jarrah and another male, probably Ahmed al-Nami, used a computer between 16:04 and 17:06 (which the document erroneously describes as 58 minutes). They paid the $22.15 charge with al-Nami's credit card. (Source)
  • Jarrah's debit card was used to spend $52 at Joe Fischman Clothing, Newark, NJ. (Source)
  • Jarrah sent a package from Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Aysel Senguen in Germany. The package contained a goodbye letter, a goodbye postcard, a private pilot licence, and additional flight school records. The package was not addressed properly and was returned to the United States after September 11, 2001, when the FBI seized it. (Source)
