John Ashcroft stopped flying commercial flights in July 2001
http://www.911myths.com/html/ashcroft_commercial_flights.html

This page is "debunked" as follows:

All this proves is that John Ashcroft lied about not being warned to fly. Also, Michael Moore is most definitely NOT part of the 9/11 Truth movement. Michael Moore totally white washed 9/11 in his documentary Fahrenheit 9/11.
http://911physics.atspace.com/Pages/Debunking911Myths/Foreknowledge.htm

Breaking it down:

"All this proves is that John Ashcroft lied about not being warned to fly"

Where? Who says he lied? Where did he say he wasn’t warned to fly? How is this proven? The story is that he was warned, because of a threat assessment by the FBI. Where's the lie? Chris forgot to tell us, or provide references: he just hopes you'll believe him.

"Michael Moore is most definitely NOT part of the 9/11 Truth movement"

Good job we never said he was, then: all we said was that Moore was "not exactly a friend of Bush, or Ashcroft" (and this from someone who accuses us of addressing “straw men” argument). Even if you want to claim that he's really helping Bush by "whitewashing 9/11", there's still nothing here to invalidate what we said, or show that the Ashcroft story had anything to do with concerns over terrorist attacks.

Put Options

Insider trading on American Airlines and United Airlines stocks prove foreknowledge of 9/11
http://www.911myths.com/html/put_options.html

This is such a big story that most 9/11 sites carry something about it, and we talk about it over several pages. Chris isn't concerned, though: he feels he can debunk us in a single, unreferenced sentence:

My Response:

Mike omits the fact of who gained the most from this insider trading, Buzzy Krongard, number 3 in the CIA.
http://911physics.atspace.com/Pages/Debunking911Myths/Foreknowledge.htm

The issues here:

"Mike omits..."

Incorrect, Chris. Didn’t you think it might be a good idea to read a site before you try to debunk it? See that blue "We weren’t convinced" link next to "What about most of the options being put through a CIA-linked bank?" That's where we talk about this issue.

"who gained the most from this insider trading, Buzzy Krongard, number 3 in the CIA."

Note that Chris fails to prove this was insider trading, or that Krongard gained anything from it. And it's hard to see how he could. Krongard was Vice Chairman of Banker's Trust-AB Brown up until 1998. They were acquired by Deutsche Bank in 1999. In 2001, these trades occurred, and an uncredited source said:

The source familiar with the United trades identified Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, the American investment banking arm of German giant Deutsche Bank, as the investment bank used to purchase at least some of the options.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2001/09/29/MN186128.DTL

So, Chris takes "at least some of the options were purchased through a bank that Krongard had worked for up to 1998" into "Krongard gained the most from insider trading". It doesn't take much to spot a degree of stretching there, does it? But Chris hopes you won't question him, just as he hasn't questioned the sites who fed him these unsubstantiated claims.

Willie Brown
San Francisco mayor Willie Brown was warned not to fly on September 11th.

http://www.911myths.com/html/willie_brown.html

Here Chris stretches his debunking to two sentences.

My Response:

All this proves is that Mayor Willie Brown didn't take Condoleeza Rice advice. The thing you have to think about is, is it just a coincidence so many public officials decided not to go to New York, or not to fly on the day of September 11th?
http://911physics.atspace.com/Pages/Debunking911Myths/Foreknowledge.htm

The issues:

"All this proves is that Mayor Willie Brown didn't take Condoleeza Rice advice."

Chris fails to show that Rice passed any advice to Brown. Or to explain why, if Rice knew anything about 9/11, she'd warn someone on the other side of the country who was in no danger at all. Or to explain why, if she knew something and was concerned, he would have ignored what must have been an extraordinary call. Or to explain why, if she did call him and he realised she must have known something, why he would then bother reporting to the press that he'd received a call at all, forcing him to make up a story about it just being his "security people at the airport".

We have an explanation that fits the facts much better, and Chris hasn't debunked it at all.

"is it just a coincidence so many public officials decided not to go to New York, or not to fly on the day of September 11th?"

Chris fails to identify what "so many" actually means here. If he's talking about the "Pentagon Officials", for instance, then we cover that story at http://www.911myths.com/html/pentagon_officials.html . This shows there was a State Department “worldwide warning” issued on September 7th that related to travel abroad, but may have been responsible for both the Brown and Pentagon officials stories. Take a look: we think it's a plausible case.
